Marine Dealer Visitor Course

The  Marine Dealer Visitor (MDV) program provides boating safety information to marine dealers. Auxiliarists visit specific dealers regularly to supply them with boating safety information and material. Dealers also help promote boating safety through publicizing local Auxiliary public education courses and Courtesy Marine Examinations. Great strides toward an ultimate goal of safe and enjoyable boating can be made by convincing the marine dealer of the importance in providing safety information with each sale of a boat or related equipment.

For qualification as a Marine Dealer Visitor (MV), the member must pass the current MV Qualification Examination and satisfactorily conduct a marine dealer visit under the supervision of a currently qualified MV.

You can achieve the status of a Marine Dealer Visitor by passing an open book, three hour time limit examination with a score of 90% or better. An MV may annually retain qualification by fulfilling the following requirements:

  • Conduct at least four Marine Dealer Visits each calendar year.
  • Attending, when required, one approved VSC/MDV workshop each calendar year.
